A native of St. Louis and a graduate of Webster University, violinist Tony Morales is currently pursuing graduate studies in violin performance under the guidance of Professor Eva Szekely. Tony holds an assistantship in the MU Graduate String Quartet, currently serves as concertmaster of the MU philharmonic and is an active member of the Missouri Symphony. He has performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for their Young People’s Concerts, served as concertmaster of the Webster University Chamber Orchestra and was a winner of the Webster University Concerto Competition. Most recently, Tony performed as soloist with the MU Chamber Soloists in a multi-media presentation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons under the baton of Brazilian Guest Artist Evgeni Ratchev. In 2012, he spent a semester abroad in Vienna, Austria to study with esteemed violinist Harmut Omezberger. Tony has been recipient of the Allen Carl Larson Endowed Scholarship at Webster University, The Catherine and Rogers Whitemore String Award, the Leah L. Emmons Orchestral Award, and winner of the prestigious Zoltan Szekely Performance Award at the University of Missouri.
