Beau Henson, 14, will be one of the youngest performers in the 50 State Sonata Project. He lives in Ames, Iowa. An accomplished chamber musician and soloist, he has played in the Klier String Quartet for three years, one year as 2nd violinist, two years as violist. Beau also plays professionally with the Henson Family String Quartet. He studies with Dr. Jonathan Sturm, concertmaster of the Des Moines Symphony and violist of the Amara Piano Quartet. In summer of 2015, Beau attended the acclaimed Idyllwild Summer Arts Festival on full scholarship, studying with Larry Livingston and Christoph Wyneken. Idyllwild repertoire included such works as Dance Macabre, Pines of Rome, Beethoven Symphony #8, and Mendelssohn’s first string quartet. Beau has recently joined the Central Iowa Symphony.
