Yinbin Qian

Violinist Yinbin Qian joined the Silk Road Ensemble workshop playing Arabian Waltz; lead by Yo-Yo Ma at Chicago's Orchestra Hall in 2013. In June 2010, Qian appeared at the Shanghai-San Francisco 30-years Sister City Committee’s Gala Dinner in Shanghai, performed "The Tune Far Away", a trio by former Shanghai Conservatory President Liqing Yang.

Qian received his Master Degree of Violin Performance from San Francisco Conservatory under Wei He. He also received a Viola Advanced Professional Studies Certificate from Bard Conservatory and toured seven countries in Europe with Bard Conservatory Orchestra in 2014 as a violist.

In 2015, Qian played with Rutgers Symphony Orchestra as the concertmaster at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center for Rutgers’ 250 th Anniversary year concert. The following year, he played with the group “The Orchestra Now” from Bard Conservatory at Carnegie Hall. Qian joined Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2011 to 2013 as a violin fellow. His teachers include Weigang Li, Ilya Kaler, Carmit Zori, and Erica Kiesewetter. In 2013, Qian joined the Grammy-winning Albany Symphony Orchestra as a violinist.
